A thread face lift is a minimally invasive procedure that uses fine, dissolvable surgical threads, often made of polydioxanone (PDO), to lift sagging skin and stimulate collagen production without the incisions of a traditional face lift. The threads, some of which have tiny cones or barbs, are inserted under the skin using a thin needle or cannula and anchored to gently reposition tissue in the cheeks, jawline, or brow before the ends are trimmed. The procedure is done under local anesthesia in an outpatient setting and usually takes thirty to sixty minutes. Over the following weeks, the body forms collagen around the dissolving threads, which gradually adds mild firming to the initial lifting effect. It suits patients with early sagging who are not yet ready for surgery, and results are noticeably more modest and shorter-lived, typically twelve to eighteen months, than a surgical lift. Downtime is minimal, with some swelling, bruising, or a pulling sensation for a few days. Because recovery is short, a thread lift can often be scheduled alongside other treatments during a single trip to India, though patients should discuss timing with their surgeon if combining it with more invasive procedures.
